Useful Arts is no longer an active organisation.
However a small amount of money is left over from activities in 2009.
We would like to offer this to assist with small art activity that benefits service users (Ideally drug and alcohol and/or mental health service users).

In 2008 Useful Arts benefited from the support of just a few disposable cameras that got us going at that time and resulted in such positive experiences for so many that were involved.
We hope that we can return the favour with something similar for another group.

We have limited resources and may not be able to support all proposed activities.

Heavy Load Gig 10 Dec 2009

Heavy Load gig and album launch – 10^th December, Brighton, UK

Heavy Load are hosting a launch party at Brighton ’s Komedia Theatre to celebrate the launch of Wild Things Vol.2

Wild Things V.2 is a double CD compilation which we’ve put out (with the help of Trust Greenbelt) and features musicians with learning disabilities all around the world with learning disabilities. We don’t know of any other CD like it and we want to make a big noise to show off the incredible talent that’s out there.

Heavy Load and 3 other acts from the album will be performing.

Tickets are only £5 (carers free) and available from Komedia Box office www.komedia.co.uk/brighton

Notice

The Useful Arts Meeting held on 21 October 2009 decided that the constitution would be re-written to reflect current circumstances and the committee re-established.

Therefore we invite expressions of interest, in particular from service users to join the committee and be involved in Useful Arts.

Deadline is 30 October 2009.

Provisional date of next meeting: 6 November 1pm - This date and venue to be confirmed.

A motion/part of the constitution will be proposed to have representatives of service providers support Useful Arts in the role of advisers.

Competition News : Sussex Partnership NHS

Design an image about Recovery for the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
This competition is open to any past or current users of Sussex Partnership services.
